VADER Banned In Malaysia
January 27, 2006Polish death metal veterans VADER have posted the following message on their official web site:
"VADER is on the list of 228 metal bands banned in Islamic Malaysia. The National Fatwa Council issued the religious decree against the 'black metal cult,' citing practices in which members stamp on the holy Koran, drink alcohol and freely engage in sex. Council chair Shukor Husin said the cult's practices, based on U.S. rock band METALLICA which has used symbols including an inverted cross, went against the teachings of Islam and could propel a Muslim out of the religion. However he said, merely listening to heavy metal songs was not a crime."
Candlelight Records has just released VADER's new EP, "The Art of War". This special mini-album contains six brand new songs ("Para Bellum!!!", "This Is The War", "Lead Us!!!", "Banners On The Wind", "What Colour Is Your Blood?", "Death In Silence") and was recorded at Hertz Studio in Bialystok, Poland, with the Wieslawscy brothers at the helm. The MCD also features the band's new video clip (created by Arek Jurcan in 3D systems, well known from computer games) for the track "This Is The War".
As previously reported, VADER will headline the Metal Crusaders tour starting May 26 in Montreal. KATAKLYM, DESTRUCTION, SPEED\KILL/HATE, GRAVEWORM and THE ABSCENCE are also featured on the tour package. Confirmed dates are now available at www.candlelightrecordsusa.com.
